Even the quiet and shy
students feel relaxed enough to speak and participate in the
language lessons.
A
teacher is more than a teacher at Wynchemna. The teachers are
there for the youths 24 hours a day!
An excursion to Southern Alberta
follows the language lessons.
We begin with a visit
"Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump"
one of
the oldest, largest and best-preserved buffalo jump sites in North
America. In 1981, the members of the UNESCO (the United Nations
Educational, Service and Cultural Organization) recognized the
outstanding intrinsic value of the site and designated it a World
Heritage Site to protect and preserve its historic value for the
future.
Afterwards, we visit Frank's
Slide where in 1903 a good portion of a mountain buried the mine
and village of Frank.
