Booming Bighorn - August 7, 2015 - It was a Scorcher!

It was a scorcher!Today the bighorns had a busy, fun-filled day full of outdoor activities. The students woke up with a great attitude, as they were exited about canoeing and playing baseball. We then had breakfast full of grains and fruits. Afterwards, the students went off to their English and French lessons. By the last lesson, the students were very eager to finish up and head out for the day, so we packed up the bus with our equipment and went off. When we arrived to the reservoir, half of the students went canoeing and the other half played baseball. The students really enjoyed canoeing, as they were laughing and splashing each other with their ores. Meanwhile, the other students were practicing their pitching, catching, and batting skills in baseball. After practicing their skills, the students then applied them in a full game of baseball, which they absolutely loved! Although the day was warm, with the sun scorching down on us, the bighorns had an absolute blast and they all asked if we are going back to the reservoir.Our adventures did not end there! Next, we headed off to Denny's for dinner and Lloyd's for rollerskating. In the evening, we celebrated Tim's 19th birthday at SAIT. For once, we did not have any leftovers here at Wynchemna; everybody adored the chocolate cake!Until next time,S&NHere is Karina's account of the day, written in French:Voici un texte qui explique ce qu’on a fait le 7 aout 2015 en après-midi. Le groupe s’est séparé en deux : j’étais dans le premier groupe. Notre groupe a fait du canoë en premier. Quand nous avons fait du canoë, je me suis mouillée avec les autres. Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir.Après, nous sommes allés jouer au baseball. Nous avons couru très vite. J’ai fait un coup de circuit parce que personne n’a compris les règles du jeu. Ma prof a crié : « Cours ! Cours ! Allez ! » . J’ai aimé les deux sports mais je pense que le baseball n'est pas pour tous le monde.Ensuite, les deux groupes se sont retrouvés pour faire du patin à roulettes ensemble. On a déjà fait cette activité la semaine dernière, mais avec tous les autres étudiants c’était plus drôle. C’était aussi amusant quand nous sommes tombés, parce que tout le monde nous portait attention. Quelque chose de spécial : il y avait un autre groupe au roller derby qui s’étaient déguisé comme des nerds. Imagine ça : toi, ton groupe d'ami(e)s ... et les nerds ! Beaucoup des personnes n’avaient plus d'énergie à la fin de la journée. C’était un jour difficile pour tout le monde.Demain, nous allons avoir des cours d’anglais pour 3 h 45. Après les cours, on va manger à l’Université de Calgary. On doit prendre le bus. Je pense que tout le monde va bien manger pour être capable de faire du patin sur glace. Beaucoup d’étudiants et de profs vont probablement tomber mais ce n’est pas un problème si on se lève. Tout de même, je pense que tout le monde va trouver l’activité plaisante. Ensuite, le troisième cours va avoir lieu. Finalement, on va souper et jouer au soccer.[AFG_gallery id='355']
