Chattering Flying Squirrels - Wave Pool, Badminton, Basketball, Ice Skating - July 17, 2016

Today was a fantastic day for the Chattering Flying Squirrels at Wynchemna. After a big breakfast of bacon, eggs, toast, Nutella waffles and fruit we did something different today and didn’t start with lessons!! Instead we headed down to Southland Leisure Center for a jam-packed day of activities.We took off in two groups, having a fun match of badminton and an intense game of basketball. To cool off from all that heat we made a few rounds at the ice rink. Students tied on their skates eagerly and for many it was their first time stepping on ice with skates. We skated, we glided, we fell, we got back up and soared even faster and harder.With all that hard skating and playing we were all starving. Subway sandwiches, fresh sweet plums and brownies were the perfect fuel top-up we needed. Feeling full and happy we wanted to take a dip in the pool. But this was no regular pool. Nah, this was a WAVE POOL with slides and a rope swing! Students undoubtedly had a blast and feeling exhausted soaked off in the hot tub.But day wasn’t over yet. Not even close. We headed back to our apartments for our English lessons. They flew by in no time at all and we were off to supper at Swiss Chalet for an amazing chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and ranch dressed salad. Students agree that it was the best meal yet.When we finally reached home we were tired but full of new experiences and new memories. We went to sleep with some sweet sweet dreams. We would need them. Tomorrow we would face off the mother of mountains – Sulphur Mountain in beautiful Banff.[AFG_gallery id='449']
