Chuckling Bison - July 21, 2015 - Rock Climbing, Driving Range, & Ice Skating!

It was another beautiful and busy day here in Calgary. We ate breakfast in our big and beautiful breakfast groups then proceeded to our lessons. Today, the students learned about the zodiac and personality vocabulary; presented details about their hometowns; and practiced English through mock debates.

Lunch was once again at SAIT - yummy pork, rice, salad, and rice - and then we geared up to leave the residence. Our afternoon activities today were at a driving range and rock climbing gym - new experiences for many of our students. We got to climb high and hit some golf balls hard, which earned some of the Chuckling Bison chocolate bars for winning our distance competition.
We ate supper at the University of Calgary - bánh mis and Korean barbecue - exemplifying two . other cultures well-represented in Canada. Then we hurried on over to the Olympic Oval, where we got to try another true Canadian pastime: ice skating! On a rink that was used by actual Olympians when the Games were here in 1988! Very exciting.
Once we got back to our home, we awarded Veronika the Student of the Day, for ALWAYS being SO helpful, particularly today during ice skating. For many of the Bison, it was the first time they tried the ice out, and V (among other kind students) assisted them greatly. Congratulations!
Finally, we closed the night by planning for our big International Supper tomorrownight! The students broke into their home countries to plan what type of cuisine they'll prepare for everyone else tomorrow evening. Definitely exciting for the kids, and I personally loved to see them all be so upbeat about cooking! I'm looking forward to all the scrumptious eats tomorrow! :D
'Til then!
