Grunting White Pelicans - July 27, 2016 - Scavenger Hunt and Sailing

Today started with a breakfast down in the cafeteria as a group, after some chatting within breakfast rooms the day began. First the students were divided into groups before they departed to venture out to explore UBC. All the groups had a list of places around the campus to find as they raced against the other teams to complete their task. The teachers came out on top but all the students gave a valiant effort in the race. Students then enjoyed lunch before they prepared to set sail! We all traveled to Jericho beach to learn a bit from our sailing instructors on how to tackle the sea. Students then had the opportunity to test their newfound skills on the water with the help of an experienced sailor. After gaining their sea legs on our boats, we all moved to the other side of the beach where swimming was allowed. Everybody splashed around before working an appetite that was satisfied by pizza. After such a relaxing day, students wrote their placement exam before heading to bed.[AFG_gallery id='507']
