The students wrote some lovely cards for teacher Emily's birthday today. After morning lessons and a happy-hut buffet lunch, the hissing prairie rattlesnakes loaded onto the bus and drove to the Calgary Canoe Club on the Elbow River. With the Canoe Club instructors, the teachers and students got the canoes into the water. It was the first time for many students, but we all did really well even if we were splashed a little. Each time we got stuck turning the wrong direction or bumped into each other, we laughed if off and kept in high spirits.Next, the students learned how to play baseball in the North Glenmore Park with teacher Noah as their coach. Everyone went up to bat and got to hit the ball. We had some great plays, and we even had some home runs! Although it was a bit rainy this afternoon, we still had a great time outside. We went back to SAIT and made delicious lasagna and garlic bread in our apartments. After dinner, a couple teachers took a group of students to the park to play basketball and soccer. The rest of the students stayed and played boardgames in their apartments. Later, we presented the students of the day, Clara and Esme, with their chocolate bar prizes. Clara did a great job welcoming the new students that had arrived yesterday, and Esme was very helpful and supportive towards her peers in class and in our activities. We have a great group of students this year! Keep it up, Hissing Prairie Rattlesnakes![AFG_gallery id='400']https://www.flickr.com/photos/78673003@N07/27507671934/in/dateposted-public/https://www.flickr.com/photos/78673003@N07/27507413653/in/dateposted-public/
