Humming Owls - July 12, 2014
Today was a busy Saturday full of lots of activities and sports! We began with playing some ice hockey right after breakfast, which was a challenging but very fun introduction to our favourite Canadian sport. We didn’t play with skates – maybe next time!! – but we slid around on the ice with our hockey sticks and played with a real hockey puck, and we had a blast doing so!After hockey was rock climbing for the second time this week, and this time we were all super professional. We climbed some really challenging rock walls today! We pushed ourselves to do even better than we had yesterday, and we demonstrated amazing team spirit and cooperation – you can never rock climb alone! After rock climbing, we spent some time in the beautiful Calgary sunshine at the Confederation Park Golf Course practicing our swings. The top drive reached 150 yards and was rewarded with a Snickers! Way to go!After our full morning, we had a delicious lunch back at SAIT and then enjoyed some free time in the heat of the day. An iced Starbucks and some time with friends put everyone in a good mood for our camping preparation. We practiced setting up our tents in our groups, and got our sleeping bags and foamies, and learned some quick tent etiquette (like keeping the door zipped closed!!) before a pizza supper and a low-key evening watching a movie and playing some cards. A long day but a good one!! [AFG_gallery id='153']
