Another busy day at Wynchemna. After our regular routine of breakfast, lessons, and lunch to begin our day we all went to a hockey arena here at SAIT to play a fun game of futsal (the arena currently has no ice). It was an intense match that ended in a draw, largely due to the skills if Michelle (from Taiwan) as a goalkeeper, making several key saves throughout the well contested match. We followed the soccer match with our dinner plans which involved us putting together our meal as a group. We had decided that we were to have caesar salad and fried rice and we had a team of students working on each. Our caesar team was lead by Zuzanna from the Czech Republic and our fried rice team was lead by Howard from Taiwan, but the meal could not have been pulled together without the help and input of everybody who helped by cutting, chopping, mixing etc. We had veggies and dinner rolls to accompany our dinner and sat together around a big table to enjoy the result of our work. After dinner, we visited local landmark Lloyd’s for some rollerskating fun. We all skated on classic 4 wheel skates or on the modern roller blades to retro tunes and a crazy light show. It was some solid fun, and even those amongst us who had never done it before enjoyed it. Both Jacky and Cody from Taiwan would not let falling down once or six times stop them from rolling about the floor all night long.Once we returned to SAIT (our home away from home) we enjoyed ice cream together in our lounge before cleaning up from dinner and calling it another day.[AFG_gallery id='171']
