Screaming Eagles - CAMPING July 12-16

What a fun camping trip! Boy oh boy is Peter Lougheed a nice park! On our first night we made our tents and a large campfire, which we sat beside as we watched the beautiful sunset through the forest. The second day found us hiking up a mountain. The climb was difficult and steep, but completely worth it. At the top we found snow and had a huge snowball fight, we swam in a glacier lake, and we drank fresh water flowing from a river. When we got back to camp we made dinner and then some smores over the fire. They were good, but not as good as the fire juggling show Peter gave us later that night. The third day we went mountain biking through the Kananaskis country. The backdrop of the mountains seemed to never end. Later on we went swimming in the cold lake water, which was great on such a hot day - plus swimming is the closest thing we get to showering while camping. The fourth day found many of us riding horses on Lake Louise. The powerful horses carried us gracefully as the Lake Louise chalet gleamed in the distance. Other students went shopping in Banff, enjoying the village and its heavenly hot springs. We came home tired, but still found the energy to sing around the campfire. It was our last night there, we had to!We left early the next morning to go to quite a different scene...the West Edmonton Mall.   Some went shopping, while some went swimming. Both loved it! The stores were filled will cool stuff, while the pool had slides that seemed to slide forever. Though we had to leave the beautiful forest, the West Edmonton Mall was a good enough replacement.Though, coming back to SAIT may have been the best destination, to be at home with friends.[AFG_gallery id='167']
