Whistling Sea Otters - Sailing Day

P7270352.jpg

Today we spent the afternoon at Jericho Beach mastering the ancient tradition of sailing. Lucky for us the winds were strong and our students were up for the challenge of guiding their boats in pairs. Everyone began to master quickly the art of "tacking" (switching the sail around to turn), and sped along without hitting -too many- of the other boats and people out on the water. Before that we had our English placement exams and became acquainted with the vast campus of UBC. In the evening we concluded with a nice pizza supper and a game outside in our neighbouring woods where teams vied to steal each other's treasure. All in all a wonderful day with good weather, great English, and smiles and suntans all around! [AFG_gallery id='196']
