Wolves and Wapiti - July 2 2015- Climbing Sulphur

The patriotic celebrations went a little late night. The teachers felt a little generous (and sorry) and began breakfast at 10:30 am. After the usual deliciousness, we got ready for our day trip to Banff National Park. The day ahead had us hiking the tough Sulfur Mountain followed by a relaxing dip in the nearby Hot Springs. At Banff, we had a Wynchemna picnic to get us all fueled up for the tough trek ahead. For a lot of the students, this was their first ever hiking experience. Thankfully, the more experienced climbers kept encouraging the rest, keeping that morale ever so high! Most made it to the top in around 2 hours, which is an average time for the Mountain. The students enjoyed the reward of their hard work: M&M’s and the breathtaking views of the landscape around. As expected, there were tons of selfies for future Instagram posts (#wynchemna2015!). We also made it to the second peak for more spectacular sights and group photos. Given how amazing (and tired) our kids were, we took the relaxing Banff Gondola down the mountain. Aren’t the Wynchmena teachers so generous?!As soon as we got down, the students picked up their bathing suits and towel and walked over to the nearby Hot Springs. Nothing could be more soothing than taking a dip in that water. Then, we hopped on the bus and headed for a quick bite of pizza at Boston Pizza. The students were super hungry, that all the plates were empty in 20 minutes!Tomorrow, we are heading to the movies! Is that it? There is never a shortage of adventures at Wynchemna.[AFG_gallery id='238']
