Camping with the Grizzlies!
We’re back from camping! What a week! Day one was a rush of packing and unpacking, setting up tents and cooking some dinner. That didn’t stop our crew from also throwing a few balls around and fully embracing the open space that was our campsite. Everyone had fun running around battling to see where they would put their tents up and finding the perfect spot in the trees and close to the river running around the camp.
Throughout the week we had many activities! One day we went on a challenging hike. It was a bit rainy and cold so our crew came back a bit wet and muddy but with big smiles on their faces still happy with all their hard work!
Next day was one that everyone was really looking forward to, horseback riding and Ice Fields! It was an early start but we were all up, bright and bushy tailed. The beautiful Lake Louise was an amazing ride for our horse crew. For some of them, it was their first time ever on a horse! As for our ice crew, it was some of their first time actually touching snow! An exciting day of firsts for everyone. We came back tired to a fresh hot meal cooked by our friends, so grateful for them!
Next day was a relaxing slow start followed by some exciting mountain biking! The views during that ride had many of us breathless, however that could have also just been all the hills we had to climb to get there! We spent the day playing volleyball, frisbee, and many other sports. It was relaxing and so enjoyable just spending the day all together.
There were many days of relaxing but an exciting day for all was when we drove into Banff! The shopping!!! The hot springs!! Exploring such a magical little town here in Canada was an exciting day for everyone, even the teachers! It was a great way to spend our last day of camping.
Well rested and a little dirty we headed back to SAIT for our last couple days together.
