Chasing the Loose Moose!
We woke up on July 5th to the sound of birds chirping and the excitement of another adventure-packed day at camp. Our day started with a hearty breakfast that offered something for everyone. We had cereal, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, and eggs to fuel us for the activities ahead.
The morning kicked off with a Loose Moose workshop led by the ever-energetic Shawn. We delved into the world of improv, playing a variety of games that had us laughing and thinking on our feet. It was a great way to bond with fellow campers and unleash our creativity.
Lunch was a feast that satisfied our growing appetites. We enjoyed teriyaki beef, a colorful assortment of vegetables, and perfectly cooked rice. The meal was capped off with a s'mores bar and a bowl of fresh fruit, a delightful combination that left us ready for the afternoon lessons.
We had three engaging lessons lined up for the day. The first was on creating our own sports, where we brainstormed and designed innovative games, combining elements from various sports we love. It was a great way to blend physical activity with creative thinking.
Next, we had a lesson on currency. We learned about different currencies from around the world, their history, and how they are used in various countries. It was fascinating to see the diversity and intricacies of global economies.
Our final lesson focused on journal entries and figurative language. We practiced writing reflective journal entries and explored the use of metaphors, similes, and other figurative language to enhance our writing. It was a valuable session that helped us express our thoughts more vividly and creatively.
The afternoon was spent playing sports under the beautiful, sunny Calgary sky. With a high of 26°C, it was the perfect weather for outdoor activities. We ran, jumped, and competed, making the most of the glorious day.
Dinner was another delicious affair. We devoured a meal of rice, beef, and salad, followed by an indulgent ice cream bar. With our energy replenished, we embarked on a brisk evening stroll to take in the breathtaking Calgary skyline and the distant mountains. The views were spectacular and provided a serene end to our active day.
The day concluded with the formation of talent show groups. We began practicing for the upcoming talent show, and the excitement was palpable. Diego stood out today with his enthusiasm and participation, earning him the title of Student of the Day.
As we head to bed, we reflect on a day full of learning, laughter, and camaraderie. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings at camp!
