Golf, Tents and an evening filled with Talent
Today was a bright and early day. Starting off with a filling breakfast the Squirrels (Juniors) hoped on the bus and made their way to the golf range. Campers first learned about the basics of swinging a club, how to place their feet, the motion of swinging an iron, and making sure to always keep their eyes on the ball. Afterwards, everyone put into practice everything they had learned and immediately students were hitting golf balls like Tiger Woods. With everyone being such amazing golfers, we decided to spice things up and create a friendly competition on who could hit the ball the furthest. Our two winners were our newcomer, Braulio, who swung a crazy 110 feet and Paulina who hit 60 feet. With everyone having so much fun, we decided to bring out the woods to get some extra long distanced shots and students went wild, some of them hitting it all the way to the 200 feet mark. After going through 500 golf balls, our adventure at the range came to an end and we headed back to SAIT to practice setting up our tents. We laughed and struggled a bit, but soon enough everyone had their tents up and ready to go, but unfortunately we still have to wait a couple more days before we actually start sleeping in them. After a delicious lunch, we followed up with 3 solid lessons of English before moving onto the most exciting part of the day: The 2023 Wynchemna Talent show. Students were pumped as they had been practicing and perfecting their craft over the last couple days and now was the big moment! There was jump rope, magic tricks, dances, singing, but they couldn’t compare to the most anticipated act came last and many are now it calling the greatest performance at the Wynchemna talent show in the last 15 years. Bang-Bang came in scorching hot with with a masterful performance on the piano that left everyone speechless. He earned a perfect score from all the Judges (which has only happened 12 times in the last 25 years!!!)
