Hockey International Supper and International Singing
Boy oh boy, let me tell ya, what a day we had today. Our day began with our routinely awesome breakfast and right into some English lessons. Today we got to learn about treasure hunts, indigenous history, and public speaking. After lessons we enjoyed a scrumptious lunch of spaghetti and meatballs with a side of roasted cauliflower.
With our bellies full we headed to the ice rink to play possibly the most famous sport in Canada: Hockey! First we learned the correct way to hold the hockey stick and then buddied up with our new friends to test our skills at passing, shooting and stick handling. Then we put our new skills to the test and played a riveting game of hockey! The excitement was off the charts. We ended our hockey experience with a shoot out and the top 3 shooters got a chocolatey surprise!
After the ice time we had playing hockey we were really hungry, so off we went to the supermarket to buy ingredients for the most super supper, the most decadent dinner, the most miraculous meal; International Supper! Today is the day when our students get to show off their culinary credentials and cook meals from their own countries! After some frying, some boiling, some stirring and a lot of laughs we had made our fabulous food, and what a fantastic feast it was! We had bubble tea from Taiwan, Miso Soup from Japan, Beef Tofu Soup from China, Potatoe Pancake from Spain, schnitzel from Germany, friend cheese and potato from Czech, and a lovely strawberry cake from France.
Boy were our bellies full! Luckily we got to work it all off later at Wynchemna’s annual karaoke party! We busted out all the sickest songs and dances for this one, everyone had a lot of fun singing as the crown cheered them on! All in all it was a day to remember as we sandthe night away, by the time we made it back to bed, we were very ready to sleep.
