July 17-22 Camping!

Finally the crown jewel of the summer camp, camping in the great Canadian rockies. After packing up our tents and sleeping bags we headed out west towards Kananaskis where we would set up camp for the day. But before that we headed to troll falls for a quick hike towards the natural waterfall. After a grand feast cooked by or talented chef students we slept for the first night in our sleeping bags. The next day we hiked more seriously, all the way up to Rawson lake, a beautiful glacial lake above the upper Kananaskis lakes. The day after it was hot, so we went swimming and had a nice lunch of cup noodles! The day after that we went horseback riding at lake louise as well as exploring a great glacier at the Columbia Icefield before finally getting some pizza  and heading to bed. After that the next day we stayed at camp and played games, volleyball, capture the flag, axe throwing and everyones favourite the water fight! On friday we said good bye to our campsite and headed back to SAIT, eager for running water and a warm shower.
