Juniors Play The Paper Clip Game!

We began the morning with a delightful breakfast and reviewed the schedule for the day ahead. Our first activity was the start of our junior English lessons. The students had a blast with various English speaking activities and fun mini games. Some students even won prizes! After the lessons, we walked to the North Hill Centre for lunch. The students enjoyed Vanellis Fresh Italian Pizza with a side of fries or salad. The lunch was filled with lively conversations and laughter. Following lunch, we introduced the students to the Paper Clip game. They started with a paper clip and went door-to-door in the neighborhood near the Capitol Hill School to trade for items. They collected some interesting items including a laundry bag, a propane lantern, a gardening tool, gift cards, and even a framed photograph! The afternoon ended with the students playing at the Capitol Hill playground and engaging in a fun game of basketball.

After the Paper Clip game, we returned to the North Hill Centre to shop for ingredients for supper at Safeway. The students had an enjoyable time selecting ingredients, including some sweet treats for dessert. Once we had everything, we returned to SAIT and started cooking. Many students cooked delicious pasta meals and salads, ending with sweet treats. The students had a lot of energy and laughter as they enjoyed the evening. To conclude the day, we took the students outside to play sports. They had a great time and made new friends. It was a successful first day, and the students expressed excitement for our Canada Day activities planned for tomorrow!
