The Highly Anticipated Amazing Calgary Race!!!
Today was an exciting day for the Wynchemna Bobcats! As always, we started our day with breakfast and then went to our captivating lessons where we talked about navigating Calgary using a map and learned about cardinal directions such as North, East, South and West. Students also participated in Quizizz where they learned about different celebrations around the world and began creating an invitation to a celebration of their choice.
After a healthy lunch in SAIT’s cafeteria we prepared ourselves for Wynchemna’s greatest competition so far - The Amazing Calgary Race!
Students were split into groups and were challenged with completing various tasks as a group around Calgary. Some of the tasks included taking a picture with a friendly Calgarian, visiting City Hall, determining how tall the Calgary Tower is, and getting fortune cookies for their groups. While completing these tasks, students had to rely on their mapping skills, and ask for directions to navigate through Downtown Calgary. Additionally, the Bobcats were tasked with getting individuals to sign their white T-shirt given to them as proof of completing each challenge.
We ended our day with Indian Cuisine. Students enjoyed butter chicken, tandoori chicken, rice and naan bread and then rice pudding and fruit as dessert!
Today was an amazing day! We are so excited for another adventure tomorrow as we make our way to West Edmonton Mall to shop and swim!
