Touch Downs and Paddles! Penguins take on Canadian Football and Canoeing!

Today was another incredible day at Wynchemna, filled with creativity, adventure, and lots of fun. We started the day with a hearty breakfast, which included a variety of delicious options to fuel us up for the activities ahead.

Our morning lessons were nothing short of inspiring. We delved into the interview process, learning essential skills like crafting the perfect resume, answering tricky questions, and making a great first impression. The lessons were interactive, with role-playing and mock interviews that made the learning experience both practical and engaging.

We also unleashed our imaginations by creating our own planets. Each group designed a unique world, complete with its own environment, inhabitants, and culture. This activity sparked lively discussions about the elements that make a planet habitable and the creative possibilities of different ecosystems.

After our stimulating lessons, it was time for some outdoor fun. We split into two groups for our afternoon activities and took turns playing football and canoeing. One group headed to the football field. For many of us, it was our first time playing football, but our coaches made it easy to learn. We started with basic drills, practicing different types of passes and learning how to run routes. The highlight was the game of touch football, where we put our new skills to the test. The friendly competition and team spirit made it an unforgettable experience.

The other group embarked on a canoeing adventure. Canoeing on the serene lake was a new experience for many of us, and it was both challenging and rewarding. We learned different paddling techniques, from the basic forward stroke to more advanced maneuvers. Switching positions in the canoe required teamwork and balance, and we quickly got the hang of it.

By the time we finished our activities, we were all ready for a good meal. We headed to Market Mall, where we indulged in a fantastic Greek meal.

After our delicious meal, we returned to SAIT for the much-anticipated Loose Moose workshop. Loose Moose Theatre is renowned for its improv shows, and we were excited to learn from the experts after watching their show the other night! The workshop was an absolute blast. We learned the fundamentals of improv, including quick thinking, active listening, and embracing spontaneity. The instructors shared tips and tricks for being an improv star, and we practiced through a series of fun exercises and games. It was amazing to see how everyone's confidence and creativity blossomed in such a short time.

As the day came to an end, we gathered to reflect on our experiences. It was incredible to see how much we had learned and accomplished in just one day. From mastering new skills in our lessons to enjoying outdoor adventures and embracing the spontaneity of improv, every moment was filled with joy and growth.
