Vancouver Camping Trip! Aug 8 - 14 / 2019

We have had such a great time camping for the last week. We said goodbye so some of our friends yesterday, but now we are ready for a amazing trip through the coast of British Columbia. We started by heading up to Whistler, on the way we stopped by Shannon Falls before setting up our camp and tents. After a fun first night camping, we enjoyed a delicious pancake breakfast prepared by our teachers. Then we had a lovely stroll into town and headed up the gondolas to take in the sights from atop the Blackcomb and Whistler mountains. We rode on the Peak to Peak gondola with the glass bottom so we could search for wildlife on the mountain. We then had a amazing lunch and came down the mountain to explore the mountain village! Our day ended with a ziplining trek across the mountains, such fun! The next day we headed to Vancouver Island to start the next part of our adventure. We took a ferry to Nanaimo, the ferry trip is always a treat and we got real fish and chips. Yummy! Then we headed to Qualicum Beach for a little R&R. We stayed at a beach side resort and enjoyed a sleep-in day. After a delicious breakfast of French Toast, we headed to the beach for a brisk swim! We then went to the pool and played a game of competitive mini golf. Then after some ice cream and slushes we enjoyed a campfire and made some of the world’s best amores. The next day we loaded on to the bus and drove down to Victoria so we could see some whales. The boat ride was so fun and we even got “mugged“ by some humpback whales, that means they were on three sides of the boat. Then one of the whales jumped out of the water. SO COOL. After getting ready at Goldstream, we settled in for the night. Our next day involved going to the Sooke potholes, for some grade A swimming. After a jumping competition, we went back to Victoria to explore and shop. We said goodbye to Phil and then headed back to enjoy one of our last days together. It was so nice to hangout with everyone. The next morning we had a quick getaway so we could go kayaking in the Fairway Gorge. We headed back to the mainland on the ferry. At the hotel we said our goodbyes over a lovely dinner at Moxies. What a blast this year has been!
