Bugling Woodland Caribous - Kayaking, Football, Soccer, Swiss Chalet, Face Masks - August 11th, 2016
August 11th, seems like a normal day and to most it is. However, it is special to teacher Noah, as his birthday is 1 month ahead of this date. Luckily the schedule was built for such a special day.I'm going to go ahead and skip past lunch, because breakfast, lessons and lunch were the same as everyday...Amazing. Students got on the bus after lunch in the direction of the Calgary Canoe Club's favourite group's favourite place, the Calgary Canoe club. The group was surprised to see tents sprawled out across the field, where they usually play sports, but on this day nothing could go wrong. The group split into two and half went kayaking, and the other half learned how to play Canadian Football courtesy of on site, CIS rugby player Q. Before they could play the great Canadian game, they warmed up with various races. Touchdowns were scored and High fives were shared. On the other end the group was instructed how to kayak and then they raced into the water. To this day people argue whether the invention of the motor was influential. Today proved that motors are not necessary as the students zipped through the water like dolphins. Some fell in, more got wet, all had a great time.Immediately following these two activities the group, headed to the soccer dome to play what most countries refer to as "football". Most of you parents are probably aware, but if not here's a reminder. Your kids are really good at soccer.After soccer the bus drove to Swiss Chalet. When someone asks me to give an example of Canadian Cuisine, I say Swiss Chalet. Quarter chicken, Mashed potatoes, salad and fries. Classic. The students devoured their dishes and the kitchen staff refilled salads and fries.When the students returned they had one more treat in store for them. On the 8th floor, Wynchemna Spa was in operation. Anyone who wanted one, and even those who didn't received exfoliating charcoal face masks. Of course, no face mask would be complete without cucumbers over the eyes. The kids went to bed, with clear skin and even clearer hearts. Noah could not have asked for a better month before birthday day.
