Cackling Canada Geese - July 20, 2017 - International Supper
For the first time in a while the Geese got to sleep in. Everyone was fresh and ready for the day. As usual we filled ourselves with a delicious breakfast made of eggs, bacon and fresh fruit. During lessons we learned about money from all over the world. How fascinating! After lessons, it was time for a much needed lunch break.The whole afternoon was spent on preparation for the International Supper.Step 1. ShoppingThe first step to preparing supper is buying the ingredients, which is exactly what we did. To get each dish perfect, we made sure to get the best ingredients, some of which could only be found at the the Asian supermarket, T&T.Step 2. PreparingWith a pair of head chefs from each country we all got to work. Each head chef had helpers who learned how to prepare new food, some of which they had never tasted or even seen before. With great teamwork the time flew by and at the end the food was ready.Step 3. Enjoying (Warning: avoid reading on an empty stomach)Once the table was set and everyone seated at the dinner tables it was time to dig in. Each country had a special treat for us: the French prepared the Disney-famous Ratatouille dish, the Chinese prepared delicious pork dumpling, the Russian settled simple potato pancakes, the Taiwanese treated us with home-made milk tea and the Mexicans went all out and prepared a whole variety of foods. Everyone got a chance to try all kinds of foods from around the world. The dinner was a massive success!Step 4. CelebrateWith the dishes washed and put away it was time for a party. Karaoke was a hit as everyone joined in to sing popular songs and show of their beautiful voices.What a great day all around![AFG_gallery id='638']
