Gnawing River Beavers - July 10th-16th, 2017 - Camping and West Edmonton Mall!
The Beavers were in their natural habitat for five nights and six days in beautiful Kananaskis last week. The days consisted of soaking in the beautiful mountain air, the gorgeous views, and exploring breathtaking sites that the rockies have to offer. The Beavers set off the first official day of camping in Banff, enjoying some barbecue and joining a basketball game with some friendly Canadians. We then warmed ourselves up from the chilly mountain air in the natural hotsprings while enjoying the view of the mountains surrounding Banff. The Beavers spent the next day split into two groups, half went horseback riding in Lake Louise, while the other half went to the Icefields in Jasper. Both the groups had a great time doing their chosen activities and came back together to share stories of their day. The next day was spent hiking. The Beavers worked hard to get to the top of Rawson Lake to bask in the picture perfect view of the lake, mountains, and even snow! The Beavers had a snowball fight and took a dip in the lake after having lunch on the mountain. The last full day of camping was spent mountain biking, playing games, relaxing by the stream and ending the day around a campfire singing songs. It was a relaxing and exciting couple of days for the Beavers spent on the mountains. We we're sad to say goodbye to the beautiful camp site that we called home for the week but the beavers were eager to get back to SAIT for a hot shower and clean clothes! The next morning we woke up early to hit the road to West Edmonton Mall! After a lunch of charbroiled Canadian hamburgers, some of us headed to the water park while others were eager to get shopping! We all met up as the mall closed and showed off our purchases as we headed back to Calgary.[AFG_gallery id='621']
