Friday, July 17th 2015The Grizzles went camping, but not a single bear was spotted. The week was jam packed with adventures and laughter. When we arrived, the tents were previously set up from the group before, so all that had to be done that day was to put on our pajamas and get cozy in our sleeping bags after dinner. Saturday, July 18th 2015The next day was filled with bumps and jumps on our mountain bikes! This was a new experience for many of the students. The up hills were hard but the mud on the down hills completed the trip, as everyone came back with mud on their faces and great big smiles. There were also many games of volleyball and badminton that ensued during the day. Sunday, July 19th 2015The students chose the activity that they wanted to participate in, the choices were horseback riding around the well-known Lake Louise, or the Columbia Ice Fields located in Jasper. The majority of the students had picked to go to the ice fields, some of whom had never seen snow or that much ice before. The horseback trip took about two hours to get to the end of the lake and back. Both locations had beautiful views and everyone was very exhausted by the end of the day. Monday, July 20th 2015HIKING! The weather was looking a little frightful with heavy rain clouds looming over, so the decision was made that we would choose a shorter hike and eat lunch around a beautiful lake named Upper Lake. Some decided to brave the cold and go for a swim in the water. Back at camp the students prepared their good-byes for the morning tears and hugs were shared around the campfire, because half of the camp was headed off to Vancouver for the road trip in the morning. Tuesday, July 21st 2015Good-bye and farewell! Some students got up bright and early to say their final goodbyes to the Road Trip class that was headed off to Golden for white water rafting. The rest of the group packed up the tents and the left over food and such. Then headed back to Calgary for hot showers and clean clothes.[AFG_gallery id='315']
