Today was a BIG day! We were headed to the world famous Calgary Stampede! The sky was brightening up and we could tell it was going to be a glorious Calgarian day. We gobbled up as many chocolate chip muffins and yogurt tubes as we could before we boarded our Magic School Bus. The bus trip was full of anticipation and excitement with the students chanting “Stampede! Stampede!”.We rushed off the bus, through the gates and immediately we were awed by the all the sights and sounds. The rides were exhilarating! There was the Crazy Mouse and Outlaw roller-coasters, the Drop Tower, a Haunted House, a water-themed Log Slide and many more crazy spinning, twirling, flipping rides! The kids had a BLAST! We had a quick stop for a hot dog lunch and then we were back to exploring the Stampede grounds, playing carnie games and winning stuffed animals. It was truly the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth! Then it was time for supper and boy were we hungry! We grabbed our prizes and purchases and headed for Riley Park for the best shawarma in Calgary. After that delicious meal we had a makeshift game of soccer and a game of water volleyball in the wading pool to cool down. But the day wasn’t over yet! When we got back we started brainstorming ideas for our International Supper tomorrow. It was a passionate and loud debate over what foods each group was going to cook to represent their culture. Finally we hit the haystack. There’s no doubt that we were all going to dream about the Stampede tonight and what would be in store for us tomorrow![AFG_gallery id='256']
