The students awoke to the sound of birds singing this morning. Well actually it was teacher Addy singing but her voice sounded like a lovely song bird so students fluttered out of bed to a breakfast of cereal, waffles, yogurt, and croissants with Nutella. We then began lessons promptly at 10:15. Today we did poetry workshops; students rotated between three writing stations. Students learned about haikus, limericks and acrostic poems and then got to try their hand at writing each type. The entire camp proceeded to have one huge poetry slam at the end of lessons to share what we worked hard on.We trotted over to the caf for a lunch of shepherds pie (a very English dish) with salad and baked squash.Next we cantered over to Lynn Canyon where students hiked about two kilometres until we reached a beautiful waterfall. The students relaxed while sun bathing on the rocks and wading in the water. Then we ate supper at a Vietnamese restaurant. Some students tried pho for the first time while others with experience savoured it nonetheless. After our bellies were full, we galloped on our way to lazer tag! Student An creamed us all in the first round with a score of 93000 points. Next was a team game: red against blue! The game went into sudden death overtime and although the red team fought hard, the blue team turned out victorious. We sauntered home after a long day and slept well.[AFG_gallery id='693'][AFG_gallery id='695']
