Another busy day for us at Wynchemna. We started early with our first classes. Sure we were nervous at first, but we are now feeling like fast friends with our teachers, so the classes were challenging but fun. In one class we worked on a listening and meaning exercise using a famous old Canadian song; the words were difficult to catch but we enjoyed it.In the afternoon we played a game based on another famous Canadian story, but this story was real. A man had made a series of trades starting with a red paperclip and ending up with a house. We used his story as an inspiration and went through a neighbourhood in Calgary in our own attempt to turn our paperclips into something bigger and better. It was a great chance to meet Calgarians and practice our English. We met both friendly and not-so friendly people, but in general it was great. Some of our trophy items include a giant vinyl penguin and a huge patio umbrella! For supper, we all made our own pizzas following a trip to the supermarket. It was great fun. We ended the evening with a big game of basketball outside. There were some great players, including Howard from Taiwan and Zuzanna from the Czech Republic. It got dark fast, and the mosquitoes were thick, so we called it a night.[AFG_gallery id='162']
