Soaring Monarch Butterflies - July 12, 2017 - Stampede Day!

Cotton candy, amusmant rides and cowboy hats! Today we got to participate in the annual Calgary Stampede. We got a real sense of what it feels like to be a cowboy and got a chance to see different types of farm animals. We spent all day trying carnival foods such as cotton candy, corn dogs, and candy apples. We even got to try a Canadian favourite, poutine! We spent the afternoon thrilling ourselves on the biggest and scariest rides and ended the day with a cool Canine Star show at the Dog Bowl. We saw famous dogs do amazing tricks and even dance! After the carnival we took the train home and relaxed before making a lasagna dinner with our camp friends. We played a fun game of pictionary using all the new vocabulary we learned during our day at Stampede. After our long, fun-filled day we found our from our teachers that tomorrow we will enjoy a true Calgarian Stampede breakfast followed by a tour of a petting zoo.As true cowboys would say, Yahoo!Christa was our student of the day today, she was helpful, a good friend and spoke lots of English. Congratulations, Christa![AFG_gallery id='607']
