Splashing Harbour Seals - Road trip

This past week was full of excitement as we traversed across Alberta and British Columbia towards our new adventure in Vancouver. We departed early in the morning from our campsite in Nordegg, Alberta. There was some tearful goodbye to our close Calgary friends but we were also excited about our new journey! We piled in the bus with all of our gear and drove towards Golden. In Golden, British Columbia we enjoyed white water rafting on the Kicking Horse River. We braved class 2-4 rapids with our strong team of Wynchemna paddlers. This was so exciting! After this, we had a quick lunch and continued our trip to Peachland. We made a few stops along the way to see the last spike in the Canadian railway and for some delicious ice cream. If you ever get the chance check out The D’ Dutchman Dairy in Sicamous. We finally arrived in Peachland, British Columbia and settled in for the night. The next morning we awoke to the smell of chocolate chip Pancakes and a table full of fruit. How delicious! Once we were full from breakfast we headed to the dock where Jaffra and Addy commandeered a motorboat while we went tubing. We swam in the middle of Lake Okanagan and learned about the sea creature that supposedly lives there the Ogopogo. After we were tired from our day of boating we explored the museum and laid down on the beach while Addy conquered the high dive. We then went back home for a hearty meal of burgers made by chefs Vicky, Jaffra, Mike, and Ben.Our next day was fun as we traveled towards Whistler. We departed our little home in Peachland and had a fun day of traveling as we stopped by the Othello tunnels were Canadian strength preserved as they drilled through the mountainside. These magnificent tunnels were a great and interesting stop as we made our way north. We also previewed Vancouver along the way before we finally arrived and settled into our warm and cozy beds in our Lodge Hotel. We were all so happy to find out that Vicky has making world-class omelets in our kitchen. They were amazing - thanks, Vicky! We then headed to chairlifts to climb the Blackcomb mountain and ride the Peak to Peak gondola, which fun fact is the longest of its kind. The views were indescribable, you’ll have to look at our pictures of the beautiful mountain tops. Here we enjoyed some lunch and went back down the mountain to try zip-lining. We zipped across both mountainsides, some of us even tried going upside down! There is no better way to take in the views in my opinion. We ended our day with a nice supper out as a little family. We have had a great trip as even now as we head to Vancouver we are all happy to take part in the next part of our adventure. Thank you to everyone who came along and made this trip so special![AFG_gallery id='802']
