Stomping Striped Porcupines- July 29, 2018 – International Supper and Karoke

Today was a very special day for us here, a day of celebration a day of fun and laughter... a day for FOOD! We started off strong as usual with a healthy serving of english lessons and then with a heaping serving of happy hut for dessert.Next we began our preparations for International Supper! First we made our nine teams: China, Iran, Taiwan, Germany, Mexico, Czech Republic and France and then went off to the store to buy some ingredients. We had one head chef originating from that country and the rest of us joined a different group to learn all about another country and how they cook their favourite foods!With our meal preparations ready, and our artists brushes wet we began to cook and draw. Everyone had a job assigned to them and we all worked together as a team to both create an amazing poster coupled with a delectable dish that would best represent the teams country.Our posters were hung from the ceiling as the head chefs presented on each of our gourmet homemade meals. Everyone was excited to try something new and to watch our new friends experience a little slice of our home. The food was soo good that we almost ran out!To end the night hooked up the Karaoke machine, picked up our microphones and filled the basement with a chorus that shook the building! We sang our hearts out to all the greatest hits like as: Kiss, Barbie Girl, YMCA, Shakira, and many more! It wasnt long before everyone was up dancing and singing together![AFG_gallery id='818']
