Yelping Red Foxes - Lessons, Chinook Mall, Movies - July 26, 2016

After one of the longest and most adventurous days so far this summer, I was thrilled to see all the students smiling and excited for yet another day here at Wynchemna. Today was special for multiple reasons, although one of my favourite moments occurred around 9:10am when a student rose from his chair during breakfast and politely asked if he could learn how to make eggs and bacon. At that moment I knew today was going to be a great day.After some amazing lessons - notable mention to the three new teachers who joined our group today as they were instantly adored and accepted by all - the group ate a quick yet filling lunch and was en route to Chinook Mall! Students were given the option of spending the entire day shopping or catching a matinee in order to rest their legs from all the shopping. Some students will look back on this day and remember buying the perfect pair of shoes or blouses; other will remember some great flicks such as The Legend of Tarzan, Independence Day: Resurgence, Now You See Me 2, or The Secret Life of Pets.While students were given a great deal of autonomy today within the mall, everyone still wanted to eat together. That being said, the students were treated to an incredibly delicious and healthy meal at Cultures. The choices offered included a wide variety of smoothies, panini sandwiches, wraps, soups, and salads. After dinner we still had a little bit of time before the bus picked us up to return to SAIT. I finally understand the term 'shop 'till you drop'...some students spent hours browsing and searching for the perfect gifts for their friends and families.As we noticed some students were tired, we had an early night. Some went to bed quite early in order to rest up for tomorrow's activities while others stayed awake until the normal lights-out time playing games and hanging out in the common area. All in all, today was a fantastic day and I'm still surprised how each day at Wynchemna just keeps on getting better and better - can't wait for tomorrow![AFG_gallery id='490']
