Yelping Red Foxes - Paperclip Game, Loose Moose - July 23rd, 2016
Today was a very fun filled day as the kids worked hard to improve their English as well as their bartering abilities! After a delicious breakfast and their lessons, we all went to Maurya to have a wonderful lunch of East Indian food! Everyone enjoyed it and had a great time talking to the other students - some of the teachers challenged the students with a few riddles during the meal and everyone had a blast working together to figure out the answers!!After lunch we split up into groups and headed into the beautiful neighbourhoods surrounding Kensington in order to begin the main event - the paperclip game! Students start with only a single paperclip and must trade their way up to better and better items. This game was created in order to recreate the story of a man who once traded his way up from a single paperclip all the way to a house!Everyone had a turn talking to people and putting their English skills to work. All the kids had a blast trading with the locals of Calgary, and some ended up with vases, a bracelet, and a beautiful mask (unfortunately not pictured!). Some kids even managed to trade their paperclip all the way unto a pair of skis and a working Xbox 360!After splashing about in the shallow Kensington pool we all had a yummy meal of pizza outside as the weather was beautiful, before we headed out to Loose Moose. The kids laughed as they watched the actors improvise their way through the show.Everyone headed back to their rooms tired but looking forward to the next days activities![AFG_gallery id='484']
