A day full of sun and laughter!
Well, today may have been one of the most fun packed days at Wynchemna! We started our day as always with a hearty breakfast made by our very own students! After breakfast, everyone eagerly ran to their lessons, exciting to learn more from their teachers today. Some students learned traditional Inuit games, from the traditional people of Canada, others learned to make commercials and proved they could be the absolute best sales people! Once we fuelled up with a delicious lunch we headed out for all the sports we had planned. Baseball, ultimate frisbee, and kayaking! It’s hard to say which activity the students were most excited for. We had so many home runs from the students as they learned the ropes of baseball. You should have seen how far they could throw! Overhand, underhand, grounders, nothing was too difficult for our students. Next they tried out Ultimate Frisbee, we dived, ran, intercepted, and jumped in this thrilling chase for the winning throw! Finally, we tried our hand at kayaking… more than one student got soaked as we splashed our way across the lake, teachers too! When all the activities were wrapped up we piled onto the bus, eager to eat the delicious meal we had ahead of us at Boston pizza. We treated our Italian students to a classic Canadian delicacy, Hawaiian Pizza! I must confess, not many were enthusiastic about the pineapple, but they gave it a try anyway. You’d think after such a busy day our students would be tired, but not here at Wynchemna. They headed back home to participate in another lesson, and a fun Loose Moose night! We have seen a couple of performances that the students LOVED, so we brought the performers to us to teach us their ways. Our students were doing improv, acting, and giving it their all. Such a fun, engaging activity for everyone. With such a full night, we were ready to get tucked into our beds. Tomorrow we get to go shopping, can’t wait to tell you all about it then!
