A fulfilled day at Bowness Park!
Today was another wonderful day filled with learning, adventure, and delicious food. It started with our usual breakfast groups, a routine that sets a positive tone for the day. We gathered together, enjoying a variety of breakfast options while discussing our agenda for the day.
After breakfast, it was time for our English lessons. These classes are always engaging and provide us with valuable skills and knowledge. In one class, we discussed vocabulary words for describing foods, in another, we wrote and told scary ghost stories. We also practiced our speaking skills by doing an activity that required persuading the class why we may need a certain item to survive on an island.
Following our English lessons, we headed to Carl’s Jr. for lunch. The menu offered food such as burgers, fries, chicken tenders and much more!
The real adventure began after lunch when we made our way to Bowness Park. The park’s natural beauty was the perfect backdrop for our afternoon activities. We started with a lesson on how to play Canadian football. For many of us, it was our first time learning the rules and techniques of the game, and it was both challenging and exciting. We practiced passing, running, and even had a friendly match, which was filled with laughter and teamwork.
Next, we took to the water for some canoeing. Paddling through the serene waters of Bowness Park was a tranquil and enjoyable experience. We learned how to navigate the canoes, work together as a team, and appreciate the peaceful surroundings. It was a wonderful way to bond and experience nature.
As our day at Bowness park came to an end, we returned to back to the residence, tired but happy. The day's adventures had left us with a healthy appetite, and we were thrilled to enjoy a delicious Vietnamese supper. The spread included shrimp, beef satay, and chicken lemongrass rice and vermicelli bowls. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and we savored every bite. The meal was a perfect end to a day filled with activity and learning.
After dinner, the students broke out into talent show groups to practice for our upcoming Wynchemna talent show! We can’t wait to see all our students come together and share their talents with the rest of us.
Reflecting on the day's events, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the experiences and memories we created. From breakfast to dinner, each moment was filled with joy, learning, and connection. We can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store for us!
