A "Ter-assic" Day at the Dinosaur Museum!

Lots of campers were excited today to jump into some dinosaur themed lessons that started this Dinosaur Day. There was Teacher Calvin’s Dinosaur Discovery lesson where students detailed features of popular dinosaur skeletons. Then there was Teacher Amos’ Dinosaur Report, which where students crafted dialogues with their classmates in which the students travelled back 65 million years into the past.

After some fun learning, students were eager to chow down on some lunch at SAIT’s kitchen. With bellies satisfied, we gathered on the bus and headed towards Drumheller. We made a stop at Horseshoe Canyon: a scenic nature spot that has winding paths and great views. Campers were challenged by some of the hills, but we made it through the whole valley with smiles on our faces.

Following the trek, we went to the Royal Tyrell Museum! It was filled with Dinosaur exhibits, games, and artifacts that were amazing! Students couldn’t help but feel in awe of the giants were displayed. We wrapped up our Jurrassic Day with BBQ, eating many hamburgers and hotdogs.

With a long bus ride back to Calgary, campers were ready to hit the sack and prepare for another adventure tomorrow.
