Horseshoe Cannon, Royal Tyrell Museum, and Loose Moose

Today the students headed to Drumhellar. The morning started in our breakfast rooms where the teachers and students talked about the exciting day ahead of them. After breakfast all the students pitched in to pack the bus for our trip to Drumhellar. The bus ride was about an hour and 40 minutes. The students were introduced to bus games to keep them entertained for the drive. Students were playing games like Battleship, Trouble, Uno, and War. Durring the drive students also helped put together a playlist of their favourite English songs. Once the playlist was complete it was plugged into the bus so we could sing and dance in our seats for the rest of the trip.

The first stop of the day was Horseshoe Cannon. This is a unique landscape that was created by ancient rivers. Here we were able to hike through the cannon. We climbed,  walked, ran, and slid during our time exploring the cannon. After about an hour hike in the cannon we headed back to the bus for some watermelon. Watermelon always tastes better after working hard on our hike.

Next, we headed to a picnic lunch under the largest dinosaur statue in the world. The teachers started cooking with the help of some students. The other students played soccer, frisbee, and football. Once all the food was prepared we ate cheese burgers, fruit, vegetables, and chocolate. When everyone was full we packed up and headed to the Royal Tyrell Museum. We learned about the earth before humans at the museum as we walked through the crustaious, metazoic, and paleozoic eras. The students were memorized by the fossils at the museum and they enjoyed the interactive exhibits. After finishing up at the museum it was time to head back to Calgary.

The final activity of the day was attending a Loose Moose performance. Loose Moose is a comedy performance in a theatre. The students laughed hard so it is safe to say they enjoyed the performance. We got back to SAIT late so the students headed to bed in order to be rested for our next day.
