Camping in the Rocky Mountains!
The Herons survived camping in the Rockies! We had a wonderful week enjoying the natural beauty of Canada’s mountains. We began our trip by mountain biking through the dense forests of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. We then explored the Athabasca Glacier where we filled our water bottles with deliciously fresh glacier water! We also went horseback riding around one of Canada’s most famous lakes, Lake Louise. We then had a relaxing day at the camp site where we enjoyed some friendly competition during volleyball, badminton, and board games by the fire. We then went SHOPPING in Banff and enjoyed a nice hot shower at the Banff Hot Springs, followed by a pizza picnic in the astoundingly beautiful Millennium Park! We bid farewell to a group of Herons who departed for the Vancouver Road Trip on the second last day of camping. On our final day of camping, we hiked up to Chester Lake and went for a swim by a beautiful waterfall! We returned to Calgary tired and happy from our extraordinary week in the mountains!
