Crazy Climbing and Canoes
What an adventure we had here at Wynchemna today! The Bobcats started their day with their new breakfast group and then did some lessons where they learned about money, and talked about what we would do in certain scenarios.
After all of our learning, we packed our bags and got ready for our journey. The students were split into two groups and spent the afternoon climbing and canoeing! It was a lot of the students first time doing both activities and everyone had so much fun! While canoeing we learned all about how to properly paddle and get in and out of the canoe, we even learned how to switch spots from the front to the back without tipping the canoe! While climbing, many students challenged their fear of heights by going up the wall just a little bit while others went around climbing all over and to the top! Two of Wynchemna’s very own bobcats even beat the climbing record of the day at the Calgary Mountain Climbing Center! Esteban set the first place record with a whopping 6.40 seconds up the wall and Josef in second with an amazing time of 6.47 seconds up the wall.
The students were super hungry after our afternoon of fun and ate some delicious Vietnamese food at the University of Calgary.
After getting back to SAIT, students met with their peers from the same country as them to discuss what they want to make for our international supper later this week.
It was a jam packed day here at Wynchemna! We cannot wait for more laughter and memories to come in the next days!
