Drumheller, the Dinosaur Capital of Canada!

Today was an absolutely thrilling day filled with an abundance of adventure and breathtaking scenery. Our day started with a visit to the Calgary Stampede breakfast at Market Hill. The students were treated to a delightful feast, consisting of fluffy pancakes, sizzling sausage, perfectly scrambled eggs, and refreshing bottled water. The lively atmosphere was complemented by wonderful live music, making the breakfast experience truly unforgettable. The students thoroughly relished every moment of this special morning.

Following the breakfast, we returned to SAIT for an engaging lesson, during which many students had the opportunity to unleash their creativity by crafting their very own dinosaurs. This activity set the perfect tone for the day's upcoming adventures. We then headed to the SAIT cafeteria and savoured a delicious lunch prepared by the talented culinary students. The culinary delights left everyone thoroughly impressed and satisfied.

With lunch concluded, we eagerly prepared for our much-anticipated expedition. Our journey took us to the charming town of Drumheller, situated northeast of Calgary. Known for its remarkable badlands, Dinosaur Provincial Park, and the renowned World's Largest Dinosaur, Drumheller is widely recognized as the dinosaur capital of Canada.

Our day of exploration kicked off at the magnificent Horseshoe Canyon. The students revelled in laughter and exhilaration as they navigated and conquered the canyon's imposing terrain. After our invigorating hike, we treated ourselves to refreshing watermelon slices and cold water to quench our thirst.

Before bidding farewell to Horseshoe Canyon, the students had the opportunity to choose between visiting the Royal Tyrrell Museum or enjoying the attractions of the Rotary Spray Park. Some were captivated by the fascinating displays of prehistoric relics and dinosaur bones at the museum, while others indulged in sports and water activities at the park.

As the evening approached, we gathered to enjoy a scrumptious feast comprising delicious burgers, fresh fruits, and invigorating salads, thoughtfully prepared by our dedicated teachers and Roland, our camp director. The students eagerly savoured the delightful meal and then transitioned into an exciting game of volleyball. Laughter and joy filled the air as the game unfolded, creating unforgettable memories for all.

As the day drew to a close, we boarded the bus for our return journey, with the students buzzing with energy. The bus reverberated with their infectious laughter and melodic singing, bringing a perfect conclusion to an extraordinary day of exploration and discovery in Calgary.
