Mall-Tastic Monday: Snacks, Shops, and Shenanigans!
July 15th at Wynchemna began with a burst of energy as we woke up bright and early, ready to seize the day. Our morning started in our breakfast rooms, where we gathered for a hearty breakfast and a lively discussion about our schedule for the day and the exciting plans for the upcoming week. The air buzzed with anticipation as we talked about the various activities and lessons we had to look forward to.
After breakfast, we dove straight into our lessons. One of the most fun activities of the morning was a blindfolded taste test featuring a variety of Canadian snacks. It was an amusing and challenging exercise, as we tried to identify the flavors and ingredients of snacks we weren't always familiar with. This was followed by a creative session where we designed postcards. Each of us crafted a unique postcard that captured our thoughts and excitement about camping and the adventures awaiting us in the week ahead. It was a wonderful way to channel our creativity and share our enthusiasm.
Lunchtime arrived, and we headed to the SAIT café, where we were greeted with an array of delicious options. We could choose from chicken supreme, stuffed pork loin, and meatballs in tomato sauce, complemented by sides of rice, mixed vegetables, and potatoes. The meal was satisfying and gave us the energy we needed for the busy afternoon ahead.
With lunch behind us, we made a quick stop at the bank to ensure we had enough money for our next adventure: an afternoon at Chinook Mall. The excitement was palpable as we arrived at the mall and dispersed into various stores. Many of us took the opportunity to update our wardrobes, buying hoodies, T-shirts, shorts, and shoes. The thrill of shopping was evident as we compared our purchases and shared fashion tips. Some of us even managed to catch a movie, adding a cinematic experience to our mall day.
After a few hours of shopping and entertainment, we reconvened at the mall’s food court for supper. The variety of food options allowed everyone to find something they enjoyed, and we shared stories of our shopping exploits over our meals.
As the evening set in, we made our way back to SAIT. The rest of the evening was spent hanging out together, unwinding from the day’s activities. We chatted, played games, and enjoyed each other's company, creating more memories to cherish. Eventually, it was time to head to bed, tired but content after a day filled with fun, learning, and camaraderie. July 15th at Wynchemna was a day to remember, full of laughter, discovery, and the joy of being together
