Paddle, Pitch, and Climb Extravaganza!

Day four at Wynchemna was a whirlwind of activities, starting bright and early. We kicked off with a hearty breakfast that included cereal, yogurt with granola, toast, bagels, and Eggo waffles, fueling us for the busy day ahead. Once everyone was ready, we packed up and got all 34 students on the bus, heading to our first destination: Elbow River.

At Elbow River, we had an exhilarating kayak lesson. For many of us, it was our first time navigating the waters, and the instructors made sure we were well-prepared and safe. After the kayaking adventure, we switched gears and played a fun game of baseball. It was a great way to bond with new friends and enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting.

After our morning activities, we returned to SAIT for lunch at the café. The variety of food available was impressive, including pulled pork, lobster, potatoes, mixed vegetables, and lasagna. Everyone found something they liked, and it was a good opportunity to recharge for the afternoon.

Post-lunch, we had a quick rest back at SAIT before heading to our next exciting activity: Loose Moose. This improv acting lesson with Sean was a highlight for many of us. Sean's energetic and playful approach helped us tap into our inner child and embrace our silly sides. We learned valuable lessons about spontaneity and creativity, which were both fun and enlightening.

Next, we boarded the bus again and made our way to the Calgary Climbing Club. Here, we received a lesson on rock climbing safety and techniques. Climbing the rock wall was a challenging yet rewarding experience. Some of us even managed to reach the very top! The session taught us not only climbing skills but also the importance of communication and stepping out of our comfort zones.

After such an active day, we were ready for dinner, which we had at Denny's. The menu offered pancakes, crispy chicken sandwiches, California club sandwiches, and cheeseburgers, providing plenty of options to satisfy our appetites. The meal was a perfect end to a long day of adventures.

Back on campus, our day continued with three engaging lessons: "Create Your Own Sport," "Infomercials and Birthday Celebrations," and "Movie Vocabulary and Instruction Challenge." These sessions were designed to develop our communication skills and imagination. We worked in groups, discussed ideas, and shared laughs, further strengthening the friendships we were building.

By the end of the day, we were exhausted but happy, having learned new skills, faced exciting challenges, and made lasting memories. Day four at Wynchemna was truly jampacked with fun, learning, and camaraderie.
