The Great Calgary Race!
Today was another great exciting day at Wynchemna. Lesson’s consisted of making music, playing trivia, and learning about the upcoming Calgary Stampede! The students were anxious to participate in the lessons and speak English with their new friends from around the world. We then went to the Begin Tower for a delicious lunch and prepared for an afternoon adventure. For the rest of the day students participated in The Great Calgary Race, an exciting exploration of downtown modelled after the reality television show The Amazing Race.
During The Great Calgary Race students are given many different fun challenges and awe-inspiring landmarks to visit. The rain didn’t stop Wynchemna students as they navigated downtown Calgary using only a map and visited places like the peace bridge, the Calgary tower, and beautiful Calgary chinatown. They also had funny and interesting challenges that included tasks that included asking a stranger to sign a shirt, have a dance, and tell them their life story. We then ended the Race at Rajdoot restaurant where we enjoyed authentic Indian cuisine. The day ended with a birthday party for Jack who turned 15 today. He was given gifts and a cake baked by his amazing new friends Antoine and Alex during the day. We went to bed with a smile, excited for an upcoming road trip we are taking to travel back in time to the Age of Reptiles!
