The Great Canadian Race!
What an amazing, adventurous day at Wynchemna! We started our days in our breakfast groups making eggs and chatting about the are very exciting day! We then had our first three lessons of the summer! We learned about many things including blank blank and blank. After lessons had concluded we went to the mall to eat lunch where we had delicious pizza, chicken, salad, fries and fruit! After that we started planning our international supper plans with students from our same countries!
After breakfast, we then had our first three lessons of the summer! We created "All About Me" posters, revealing fascinating facts and personal interests. We also played "Two Truths and a Lie," a game that sparked laughter and curiosity as we tried to decipher the truths and fibs among us. Also made "Get to Know You" brochures, creatively sharing our hobbies and backgrounds. Charades added a fun twist as we acted out various scenarios, while discussions on morals and future aspirations gave us deeper insights into each other's values and dreams.
Following a busy morning at Wynchemna, we eagerly made our way to North Hill Mall for lunch. We had the option to choose from a variety of delicious meals: cheese, pepperoni, three meats, and Hawaiian pizza, along with fruit salad, Caesar salad, Greek salad, fries, and chicken wings. It was a delightful feast that satisfied our diverse tastes and preferences.
Reenergized after lunch, we grouped into our cultural teams to plan our international supper for the upcoming week. Each group chose dishes from their home countries, and the excitement was palpable as we shared our culinary traditions. The menus we crafted sounded mouth-watering, and we couldn't wait to try everyone's creations.
With full stomachs and high spirits, we embarked on an afternoon adventure to the heart of Calgary. Our first stop was the iconic Peace Bridge, where we admired the stunning view of the Bow River. We then split into our breakfast groups to explore the city. Our journey took us through beautiful gardens, historical army stations, vibrant skate parks, and intriguing sculptures. We strolled through Chinatown, soaking in the rich cultural ambiance, before heading to a nearby park for a quick rest and group catch-up.
As the day neared its end, we walked to Rajdoot Restaurant for dinner. Here, we had the unique opportunity to watch naan bread being made, a fascinating culinary experience. We savored a variety of delicious Indian dishes, enjoying the rich flavors and spices.
Returning to our campus at SAIT, we reminisced about the day's adventures. Our experiences had not only broadened our horizons but also strengthened the bonds of friendship among us. It was another unforgettable day at Wynchemna, filled with learning, laughter, and cultural exchange.
