Booming Bighorns - 9 August 2015 - Drumheller
As our camp ascends to new heights, we descended through Horseshoe Canyon in Drumheller. Famous for its fossil findings, we took time to traverse the valleys and crags. Some of us took may have taken a tumble, maybe more than one, but scrapes and cuts become great souvenirs.Did you know that the Canyon was formed by rivers? Our hike ended with a walk through where water once was, that took us to the bus that took us to where water is now, the Aquaplex. With pools and slides, we smiled and relaxed in the water. After swimming, we had a barbecue and filled up on some classics – burgers and hot dogs – before going to see the ancients – the dinosaurs at the Royal Tyrell Museum. The world’s best dinosaur museum treated the students to some awesome exhibits. Shelley even faced her fear of the T-rex!Our bodies exhausted and our brains exhilarated, we took the long bus ride home, smiling about the day we just had and knowing tomorrow could be just as good, especially since we’re at Wynchemna.[AFG_gallery id='373']
