Chattering Flying Squirrels - Hike to Rawson Lake and Pizza Dinner - July 18, 2016

Rise and shine! The Chattering Flying Squirrels were in for a treat when they found out they would be hiking a vigorous and scenic trail up to Rawson Lake. They had a hearty breakfast to prepare themselves for the long day ahead of them. The bus ride was filled with awe and excitement as the students admired the impressive mountains and Canadian wildlife. When arriving at our destination, we were greeted by mountain goats and not so pleasant mosquitos.Before beginning the hike, the students enjoyed a picnic of sandwiches, veggies, fruit, and other snacks. After lunch, the students began the 1 and a half hour journey to Rawson Lake. Because of their positive attitudes and enthusiasm, it wasn't long before they arrived at the top.The Chattering Flying Squirrels were shocked to see snow in the middle of summer. While some students braved the icy water, others participated in their first ever snow ball fight. We hopped back on the bus and made our way to SAIT for a well-deserved pizza party.The Chattering Flying Squirrels will definitely sleep well tonight![AFG_gallery id='453']
