Hooting Snowy Owls - Baseball, Kayaking, Rollerskating

What a busy day! We started off our day with a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, and waffles to fuel up in preparation for the awesome activities planned. Our morning was full of fun learning and we hammered through three English lessons before a delicious lunch of stir fry and pasta. In the afternoon, the Snowy Owls headed off to the Calgary Canoe club for kayaking and baseball. For many students, it was their first time doing both activities. We had a lot of fun splashing in the water while attempting to navigate the gentle waves on the scenic waters in the North Glenmore Park. During baseball, a number of students hit their very first home-run and we had a lot of fun celebrating!After baseball and kayaking, the Owls headed off to Denny’s for a delicious supper. We had breakfast for supper and many students were impressed with the complimentary syrup. We had a delicious dessert of strawberry ice cream while watching a torrential downpour from the safety of the restaurant. Surprisingly, we saw some hail and were very, very grateful to have been indoors at that time. After the supper, we went rollerskating at Lloyd’s Skating Rink. We pulled on our skates and boogied down the skate rink! Many students learned how to roller-skate and the energy of the rink was great. After a fun two hours of skating, the Owls headed back to the dorms for a good night’s sleepWhat a busy day!
