Chuckling Bison - July 30, 2015 - Football, Kayaking, & Improv Fun Out in the Sun!
In Jefferson's lesson today, the students continued with analyzing and deconstructing music lyrics, played the describe-a-movie game, and touched on the past perfect tense. Riley, standing in for Joe, facilitated an activity that involved creating sentences via a relay race. And then for Fiona's, the students learned (Canadian) football lingo and attempted tongue twisters. Fun stuff!Lunch offered a lot of choice, in one of the South Alberta Institute of Technology's school buildings. We dined with the other group and got to meet some more people from around the world! Yay!Then we hopped on the bus and shot over to the Glenmore Reservoir for some Canadian football and kayaking. Both were very fun activities and allowed our students to try something new! I especially enjoyed cooling off in the kayaks as we played games such as Tag and Shark Attack. It was a gorgeous day for it, too! Sunny but with a great breeze. Then we recharged with some Italian-American grub and returned to our residence for something the Bison have been looking forward to for weeks: the Loose Moose improv workshop! And it certainly didn't disappoint - the kids (and the teachers too!) had a phenomenal time, learning improv and how it can assist us in other parts of our life, all while sitting outside. We all laughed and got to be silly with each other. Definitely a great way to spend an evening. We gave Student of the Day to John (aka Bun-Bun) for including Hank during football and for keeping a great attitude even after he fell out of his kayak into the water! Congrats!'Night now.[AFG_gallery id='340']
