It was a bright and early morning here at Wynchemna, as both the students and teachers had to be up early to take advantage of the event known around the world as the Calgary Stampede. Most students had never been to such an illustrious carnival, as the assortment of games, rides, and food would make any person sacrifice a little sleep for some great fun. The students had a big nutritious breakfast and then were off to the Stampede for the rest of the day. The day began with students enjoying some of the fastest and heart racing rides across Canada. The students were filled with excitement and anticipation, as the rides kept getting better and faster each time out. While some students took into the excitement of roller coasters, others were more interested on playing some carnival games to win some awesome prizes for friends and family. Students were having a wonderful time around the Stampede, and most students actually won a variety of prizes, with prizes being bigger than the students themselves. As the day continued, the sky kept getting clearer and brighter, which made it only better for the students to tour around the park. After a great hot dog for lunch, students were given the option of enjoying a paintballing session. Those who ended up paintballing enjoyed it so much, as one or two rounds was not enough to fill their excitement. Students went three or four times and got the entire paintballing experience here at the Calgary Stampede.Despite all the fun rides and games, the Calgary stampede festival is more than a carnival, as students were able to see some world class motocross racers, some acrobatic dunkers, a puppy show, and lastly some cowboy bull riding from Calgary’s finest cowboys. As the day wore on, the students began getting more and more tired as the wear and tear from all the twists and turns of the rides began to show. Students were treated to a wonderful dinner at Canada’s own Swiss Chalet, headed back to residence for 3 English lessons, and finally got some rest after a long day’s activities. It was an awesome day here at Wynchemna, and it will continue to get better as the students visit Drumheller tomorrow evening![AFG_gallery id='431'][AFG_gallery id='432']
