Laughing Sea Lions - July 31 2015 - Vancouver in a Day & Art Gallery
Today we stimulated the creative part of our minds during our lessons by having a fieldtrip to the Art Gallery of Vancouver. We challenged the students complete an assignment during our time there. They had the opportunity to view different exposés like pieces from famous Canadian artist Emily Carr and it was a great way for them to drink in new and unique perspectives. After a lunch break in the mall the Sea Lions steeped up to the next challenge; Vancouver In a Day. We split up into teams and were gave each group a list of hotspots to visit such as Pan Pacific Hotel, Gastown and Orpheum Theatre. In addition, they had snap shots of interesting landmarks such as the SkyTrain, a steam clock and the tallest building in Vancouver, or as they call it here “Van City”. It was a race against time and the other teams as the sun inched across the sky. It was a close finish but Adam’s group pulled out ahead by a sliver. Finally the teams reconvened at Romano’s pizza for some pipping hot pizza and headed back to UBC for a little free time before bed. And thus ended another amazing adventure at Wynchemna in Vancouver for the Laughing Sea Lions! Tomorrow is going to be another great day.[AFG_gallery id='347']
