Piping Woodpeckers - July 20, 2014
Today was a day full of sports at the Southland Leisure Centre. We arrived around mid-day and by the mid-afternoon had gone ice skating, played badminton, played racquetball, and swimming; pretty tiring by the time we headed back to SAIT. Ice skating was the highlight sport for many students. Racquetball was great, yet proved to be pretty difficult; but we eventually got the knack. At least we had the chance to play with a variety of opponents from around the world and we were all unified in our beginner status. Once we were back at SAIT, those of us who had just arrived wrote a short exam so we could be placed in a class of the appropriate level. It was a minor source of anxiety, but wasn't so bad once it was over. We finished our day with a meal at a local restaurant and some ice cream with our new friends.[AFG_gallery id='178']
